WHY WE

BUILD

In order to know one’s self, you must also know how to build yourself and your community. We are here to assist young adults between the ages of 17-24 in Baltimore City. Through technical skills in the electrical and energy-efficient field, housing holistic health resources we hope to restore internal power to at-risk youth that need guidance into their futures. To engage in community impact, our youth will be working with the elderly by assisting them with electrical solutions. We are here to build and empower our youth so that they can impact their own futures and their community.

Lula Inc. envisions a world where young people are embraced by a thriving community that will teach them to care for themselves, their families, and the community.

WIRED UP

A cohort of 20 students will occur three times a year where youth will be mentored, taught, and coached on how to build electrical and energy-efficient skills. The learned skills will be applied to restoring power to the homes of elderly individuals.  Coaches will serve as accountability partners and offer skill and personal advice. We will also offer connections to other organizations and entities where youth can expand upon their skills and knowledge.

BUILD YOURSELF

Community Partners will provide weekly life and soft skills training. The partners may be volunteers and/or partnering organizations. The skills training will include financial literacy, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and building supportive networks. Additionally, we will partner with Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs to provide mental health counseling.

LIFE GETS BETTER

Any young adult that is in danger of becoming homeless or needs additional wellbeing services, will be referred to local resources that Lula Inc. is partnered with to ensure their success in the program and in life.

How to Partner/Support

We are looking for partnerships with electrical and construction entities and  other nonprofit organizations that would need the services of our youth. Additionally, we are looking to partner with organizations that will volunteer to educate our youth. As part of our wrap around services, we are looking for housing organizations and mental health organizations to provide services to our youth.

What is your donation for?

We are seeking donations to ensure the success of our youth by providing:

  • Construction materials

  • Electrician tools

  • Educational materials

  • Transportation for youth attending programs.

  • Laptops

  • Stipend for the youth.

 Electrical & Construction Partners.

Electrical and Construction Entities can provide opportunities for newly trained electricians and construction workers.

We want to engage experts that can assist our youth in educating them with the skills needed to build their lives and communities.

Wrap Around Partners

Some youth are coming out of the foster care system and there is a possibility of homelessness. To circumvent that we want to offer housing through organization partnerships so that they can learn their trade without the burden of being homeless.

By partnering with local mental health organizations we can provide therapy and other mental health needs to our youth to ensure that they are ready to face their journey ahead.
